Motel Mezcal seeks long stay in APAC markets

Artisanal brand Motel Mezcal has launched in various markets in Asia Pacific (APAC).
The brand is available in China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau through Drinks 99, as well as in New Zealand through EuroVintage, Malaysia with Spirit Syndicate, and in Taiwan through Eureka Imports.
The brand is from Daniel López, a third-generation mezcalero whose family has preserved artisanal methods for decades, using techniques such as roasting the agave underground on volcanic stones and crushing it with a horse-drawn tahona. He co-founded the brand with Henry Gordon, a celebrated restaurateur from New Zealand.
Gordon said: “We believe Motel Mezcal will connect with [a] new wave of adventurous drinkers who value both craft and story.”
Teeling reaches new heights in Rising Reserve range

Irish whiskey brand Teeling unveiled the fourth and penultimate bottling in its Rising Reserve range.
The series consists of five 21-year-old single malts, which are handpicked from casks of the distillery’s “oldest and most interesting” reserves. Rising Reserve No.4 was aged initially in ex-Bourbon barrels for more than 18 years before being finished in ex-white wine casks for a further three. It has an ABV of 46%, and is priced at RRP €225 (US$261).
Jack Teeling, founder and managing director of Teeling, said: “Each release reflects our commitment to crafting whiskeys of exceptional quality and character.”

The brand was founded by beverage veteran Ingrid Smith, who said: “Consumers are evolving beyond the extremes of indulgence and abstinence. Nirvana was created for this new generation – people who value balance, authenticity, and experiences that feel as good as they taste.”
Smith’s experience around the world has taken her from Paris to Brazil to China. She added: “Whether you’re in Shanghai or Rio de Janeiro, great drinks create emotional connection. Nirvana was born to do exactly that.”
Nirvana is headquartered in Orlando, Florida, with US retail and on-trade expansion planned in key coastal and resort markets.
Contraluz makes intentions clear with Tequila launch

Contraluz, the mezcal brand produced by Casa Lumbre, has ventured into the Tequila category with a cristalino expression.
Contraluz Cristalino Tequila joins the brand’s lineup of mezcals, which includes Mezcal Cristalino and 11:11 Mezcal. It is crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave, and is aged in American oak barrels. The reposado liquid then undergoes a filtration process to remove colour. Its notes consist of honey, vanilla, and toasted oak.
Bottled without additives, Contraluz Cristalino Tequila has an ABV of 40%. It is available in Italy, with a wider rollout in other European markets to follow in 2026. Stockholm-based company AliasSmith is the product’s distributor in Europe.
Hayman’s zeros in on alcohol-free

Gin producer Hayman’s is tapping into the alcohol-free boom with the launch of Hayman’s London 0%, the producer’s first zero-ABV product.
James Hayman, co-owner and fifth-generation family member, said: “Just like our great-great grandfather who in the 1860s redefined and pioneered London gin to the style we enjoy today, we too continue to innovate, creating our London 0%.”
The liquid’s profile is said to mirror the flavours of the brand’s signature gin, with juniper, coriander and citrus. It retails in the UK for £18 (US$23.50).
Hayman added: “While we stay true to our heritage, we also evolve to offer drinkers more choice – and with the launch of London 0%, we can now offer the gin drinker a full range, from Old Tom to London Dry to London Light, our mid-strength, and now London 0%.”
Desolas Reposado is one for the ages

Mezcal brand Desolas added an aged reposado expression to its portfolio last month. The reposado was created from 100% Salmiana agave, which was cooked in above-ground hornos, and matured for six months in 200-litre ex-Bourbon barrels at an elevation of around 4,000 feet.
Sammy Halpern, chief strategy officer at Desolas, said: “We’ve spent the past three years experimenting with how ageing could elevate our beautiful Salmiana agave mezcal. Desolas Reposado isn’t just an aged mezcal – it’s the first of its kind. Nothing in the category tastes like this.”
Desolas Reposado has an ABV of 48% ABV, and is available through the brand’s distribution network and online store for US$109.99.

Sazerac Rye Full Proof is the third permanent edition in the brand’s lineup. It is bottled at 125 proof (62.5% ABV), which is said to heighten the brand’s signature spicy, peppery, and dry profile, creating ‘an intense sipping whiskey’ with aromas of rye spice, fresh dill, and smoky oak.
Sazerac Rye Full Proof is available in select markets with a suggested retail price of US$39.99 per 750ml bottle through its parent company’s US distribution network.

India’s ‘first’ aged agave spirit lands in the UK

Billed as India’s ‘first’ aged 100% agave spirit, Maya Pistola Agavepura has launched in the UK, with four expressions in its portfolio: joven, reposado, añejo, and extra añejo.
The spirit is made with wild agave Americana grown in the Deccan Plateau, which Maya Pistola said was initially transplanted from Mexico to India by Queen Victoria. The agave is double-distilled in part-copper pot stills before being aged, blended and bottled in Goa.
“We are excited to not only launch the award-winning Maya Pistola in the UK, but also create a cornerstone for a brand new category in the global spirits market, Agavepura,” said founder Rakshay Dhariwal.
The brand is backed by Diageo’s Indian arm, United Spirits, which purchased a minority stake in Maya Pistola’s parent firm last year.
The Maya Pistola line is available from The Whisky Exchange and The Whisky Exchange Trade, with the joven priced at £32 (US$42).
New VK RTDs tap into uni life

Global Brands-owned VK has launched a line of vodka-based, ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails in a resealable Tetra Pak format.
The non-carbonated trio of RTDs, called Squashka, include: Apple & Blackcurrant, Orange & Pineapple, and Cherries & Berries. The RTDs have an ABV of 7%.
The carton format was inspired by the brand’s university fanbase and pre-drinking culture.
Holly Bolus, senior brand manager at VK, said: “VK continues to lead the way as the number-one RTD brand for students, and the launch of VK Squashka is a huge opportunity to capitalise on changing drinking habits. It’s made for students and young adults who love a fruity pre-drink but want to skip the bubbles, save some cash, and bring the party energy from door to dancefloor.”
The 500ml RTDs are available at cash-and-carry depots in the UK for £3.49 (US$4.60).
All good things come in threes for Glenfiddich

New whisky range Glenfiddich XS comprises a trio of single malts from the William Grant & Sons-owned Speyside distillery, aged for 15, 18, and 21 years.
The whiskies were aged in a combination of American and European oak casks, with finishes in oloroso and Moscatel Sherry, as well as rare Pedro Ximénez casks. Charles Maclean MBE, a published whisky author and master of the Quaich, said: “Finishing in different styles of Sherry-seasoned casks has given each whisky a greater depth of character, an added dimension and complexity, while not masking the original character of the distillate.”
All three whiskies are bottled at 42% ABV. Glenfiddich XS 15 has an RRP of £58 (US$74), Glenfiddich XS 18 has an RRP of £88, and Glenfiddich XS 21 will cost RRP £170.
Glenfiddich malt master Brian Kinsman, who oversaw creation of the range, said: “Glenfiddich XS is a whisky crafted with a new generation of whisky drinkers in mind, where whisky rituals and drinking moments are being reinvented to mark special moments and meaningful connection.
“The multilayered, secondary maturation has created a subtle and sophisticated taste that unveils new depths to the liquid profile.”
