The Peach Crease Club opens in Denver

Husband-and-wife duo Alex Jump and Stuart Jensen have launched their first joint project, The Peach Crease Club, in Denver’s RiNo Arts District.

Jump was named Best US Bar Mentor at the Spirited Awards in 2024. She is the co-founder of Focus on Health, a hospitality support platform, and the Litas, a women’s motorcycle collective.

Jensen, meanwhile, is the co-owner of Curio Bar and Roger’s Liquid Oasis, both in Denver.

The Peach Crease Club will approach cocktails through a culinary lens, inspired by global ingredients and food memories.

Each drink is named after its namesake ingredient or dish, such as Borscht, Papaya Salad, and Jewelled Rice.

“We’re excited to share a menu that reflects who we are and the experiences that brought us here,” said Jump. “Each drink captures a moment in time, from flavours we savoured in Copenhagen on our wedding anniversary to a brandy distilled the day we were engaged. This is our way of sharing these experiences with our guests, as we would with friends at a dinner party.”

Some of the couple’s highlights from the menu include Peaches & Cream, which combines peach brandy, Bourbon, rum, vanilla, and ‘snickerdoodle cookie cream’. The brandy was created by a local distiller, The Family Jones, on the day of the couple’s engagement.

Meanwhile, Olive & Elderflower features manzanilla Sherry, elderflower, gin, olive brine, Cava and tonic and nods to a flavour combination they discovered on a trip to Copenhagen for their wedding anniversary.

Calabaza en Tacha is inspired by Day of the Dead altars in Mexico, and is made with mezcal, pumpkin, marigold, citrus, grenadine and soda. The mezcal can be swapped for a non-alcoholic alternative.

The couple’s love of cooking Middle Eastern food is represented through the Fattoush cocktail, made with gin, dry vermouth, cucumber, tomato, red onion, za’atar, olive oil and labneh.

The Peach Crease Club also offers a selection of low-intervention wines from independent producers, rare sake, espresso and tea.

Foodwise, the bar proffers light bites guided by Jensen’s culinary background, including tinned fish, meat and cheese boards and smørrebrøds (open-faced rye toasts with toppings).

Music and design

The bar is adjacent to the world-famous Mission Ballroom, with music being a key part of its offering.

Jump and Jensen share a love of live music, with the latter designing the bar’s listening experience to create ‘warm, balanced sound’ throughout the space.

On entry, guests are greeted by a retro speaker doubling as the host stand, vintage records on display, and a DJ booth for live entertainment.

At night, The Peach Crease Club will host everything from vinyl listening sessions to live DJs.

“We want people to feel like they’re walking into our home for a dinner party when they come to The Peach Crease Club,” added Jensen. “We don’t want to be known as a cocktail bar or listening bar. Every detail and every touchpoint come together to create something bigger than any one part.”

Davis Partnership Architects worked on the space, drawing from 1970s design with earth tones, ‘sunbaked’ oranges, saddle-brown leather, and Southwestern accents, including pieces from the couple’s personal art collection.

The 12-seat bar is the centrepiece, with a rich wooden back bar and spotlights.

Another 75 seats are available across a mix of bar stools, two- and four-top tables, and booths for groups up to eight.

The couple are committed to creating a hospitality model that prioritises the well-being of its team, offering benefits including comprehensive training, opportunities for career advancement, access to health insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

The team will soon open The Peach Pit, a walk-up window serving a standalone menu of draft drinks outdoors before select Mission Ballroom shows.

Earlier this month, New York welcomed two new bars: Room 207 and Chin Up.
