SB’s 12 Drinks of Christmas – Hepple Spirits

Day four of The Spirits Business’ 12 Drinks of Christmas brings us to the rugged edges of Northumberland, where Hepple Spirits has wrapped up the wild beauty of its landscape in one irresistible festive kit.

On the fourth day of SB‘s 12 Drinks of Christmas my true love gave to me… Hepple Gin’s Festive Bundle

Hepple’s Festive Bundle (RRP £49.95) pairs its expressive, hyper-fresh Hepple Gin – distilled with wild-foraged botanicals such as Douglas fir and blackcurrant leaf – with a limited edition showstopper: Douglas Fir sherbet – the ultimate festive garnish for levelling up your Christmas Day cocktails.

Harvested from the estate’s own trees overlooking the Scottish border, this bright, aromatic garnish delivers a lively burst of tropical, pine, and citrus notes. A sprinkle is all it takes to transform G&Ts, Martinis, Sours, and Cosmos into fragrant, forest-fresh serves – a sophisticated yet effortless way to bring a hit of northern character to your glass, channelling the misty, ancient pine forests that define the estate (while bringing some Christmas tree vibes to your drinks trolley).

And if you’re looking for even more flavours of the forest, you don’t need to look much further than the rest of Hepple’s spirits portfolio, where you’ll find the likes of the brand’s Douglas Fir Vodka, which will transform any classic serve with a hit of pine, tropical or grapefruit notes.

But behind all of that flavour lies purpose: Hepple’s distillery sits at the edge of Northumberland National Park, where its Wilding Programme helps regenerate native plants and protect the landscape that shapes every drop they create. Sustainable, elegant, and deeply rooted in place, this festive bundle is both a thoughtful gift and a true taste of British winter.

How to drink it

Hepple Martini

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Hepple Gin
  • 5ml Dry vermouth

Method: Fill your mixing jar with ice, and pour in the Hepple Gin followed by the vermouth. Stir slowly thirty times and strain into a chilled glass. Traditionally this recipe calls for a lemon rind pinched over the surface of the Martini, or the addition of a couple of olives, but we’d recommend adding a sprinkle of Douglas Fir sherbet over your glass for a truly festive touch.

Hepple Douglas Fir Collins

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Hepple Douglas Fir Vodka
  • 25ml Fresh lemon juice
  • 10ml Sugar syrup (2:1)
  • 150ml Soda water

Method: Rim a Highball glass with Douglas Fir sherbet. Add the Hepple Douglas Fir Vodka, lemon juice and sugar syrup to the glass and stir to mix. Then fill the glass with ice and quickly stir again. And do not scrimp on the ice. In fact, add a little more ice and top with soda water. Gently use a bar spoon to lift the mix of vodka, lemon and sugar through the soda. Garnish with lemon slice and a cherry.
