Brother’s Bond celebrates year of growth
By Miona MadsenIn 2025, Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley’s American whiskey brand, Brother’s Bond, experienced ‘strong’ global growth, fuelled by new distribution partnerships in key markets.

Founded by The Vampire Diaries actors and long-time friends, Brother’s Bond has continued its trajectory through strategic international expansion, ‘strong’ performance in travel retail, and a string of industry accolades, despite challenges in the whiskey sector.
In January, Brother’s Bond Bourbon announced its first global expansion. The results reflect 12 months of significant growth, new distribution partnerships, and increased brand visibility in key international markets.
While some whiskey producers have reduced or paused their international initiatives, Brother’s Bond Bourbon has accelerated its efforts, aided by a US$7.5 million investment in February.
Over the past year, the brand has secured distribution in several key spirits markets, including the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Greece, Austria, Taiwan, and Japan. The brand said these markets are vital to its growth in Europe and Asia.
Brother’s Bond Bourbon has also experienced rapid growth in global duty free, with ‘strong sales’ in airport retail stores.
The brand also received several industry accolades, including a Gold medal at The Luxury Spirits Masters.
In September, Brother’s Bond introduced a portfolio-wide redesign, coupled with the launch of a new four-year-old regenerative grain batch Bourbon.
Vincent Hanna, CEO of Brother’s Bond Bourbon, said: “We entered 2025 with a clear message of growth, and we are closing the year with that promise fulfilled. Our international partners, our team, and our consumers have propelled Brother’s Bond Bourbon forward.
“This year proves that a global vision for expansion and portfolio excellence can deliver results, even in challenging market conditions.
“Our success in duty free, our entry into world-class spirits markets, and the awards we’ve earned underscore that Brother’s Bond Bourbon is not only sustaining momentum, we’re building it.”
In early 2026, the brand plans to continue its global expansion and enhance its distribution in travel retail.
