Saint Sithney Distillery was established in 2023 by Wendy and Greville Richards near the coastal village of Porthleven in Cornwall.

Two years after its founding, the company has officially submitted a planning application for a new £3.5 million (US$4.6 million) distillery and visitor centre in Sithney, the founders’ home village.

The submission includes a planting project that will convert the surrounding fields into orchards filled with juniper, blackthorn, and elderflower, along with a variety of herbs and botanicals.

The distillery’s portfolio includes four expressions: the original Saint Sithney Cornish Dry Gin, which features botanicals such as juniper, lemon peel, and hibiscus; Orange; Lemon; and Pink, which combine flavours of raspberry and pomegranate.

Future releases from Saint Sithney will include flavoured gins in Rhubarb, Elderflower, and Summer Fruits varieties.

In addition, the distillery is preparing to introduce its own vodka brand, with a unique identity, and a contemporary absinthe designed with the younger generation in mind.

New website launches

In addition to the planning application, the distillery has launched a new website that aims to highlight the brand’s story, ethos, and commitment to sustainability.

It also features video content at the bottom of each product page, an online shop, a ‘where to buy’ locator for consumers, instructions for stockists, cocktail recipes, a blog, and a Trustpilot link to connect new customers with reviews.

The Richards’ shared: “We wanted the new website to reflect who we are – proudly Cornish, quality-driven, and passionate about creating spirits that genuinely stand out. We wanted to tell our story vividly and build trust with our customers across the UK and beyond.”

Through the use of recyclable packaging and partnerships with local suppliers, the brand is dedicated to supporting Cornish growers while minimising transport distances, reflecting a commitment to environmentally respectful growth.

Saint Sithney’s existing range is now also available at St Austell Brewery pubs, hotels, and venues throughout the South West of England.

The distillery has confirmed plans to expand its distribution into new markets, with export initiatives under way.
