Macallan creates Christmas tree with the Ned

The Ned hotel in London has welcomed a Christmas tree inspired by Scotch brand The Macallan to its historic grand banking hall.

The tree draws inspiration from the whisky maker’s DNA, considering heritage, hue, and place.

Designed by The Macallan, the tree is intended to embody the brand’s values: the ‘quiet strength’ of its distillery, the natural beauty of Speyside’s rolling hills, and the deep connection to its oak casks.

The design features The Macallan’s signature red, as well as copper baubles inspired by the brand’s copper stills. White ornaments feature The Macallan ‘M’ and are featured alongside red velvet bows.

Clusters of berries, acorns and foliage evoke the flora of Scotland.

The tree will be on display from today (24 November) until 27 December.

Sergio Cabello, head of The Macallan UK, said: “We’re excited to partner with The Ned to create a truly memorable festive season. This partnership is about bringing people together and creating joyful moments and festive experiences worth celebrating.”

Guests will also be able to enjoy exclusive whisky experiences at the hotel. Both the Library Bar and Lutyens Grill will offer Macallan cocktails, while the former will also have an expressions menu.

“We’re thrilled to welcome The Macallan to The Ned this Christmas,” added The Ned’s group managing director Gareth Banner. “This collaboration celebrates our shared commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling, and timeless elegance.”

In September, The Macallan launched a US-wide bar takeover, with guests able to win a trip to Speyside.

Engineers at The Macallan’s distillery are currently taking strike action.
