Amoon Spirits unveils ‘world’s first’ smart vodka
Indianapolis-based company Amoon Spirits has launched a vodka with a bottle featuring a patented Vortex Control Unit (VCU) system that can be controlled with an app.
Described as ‘the world’s first’ smart vodka, Amoon is presented in an intelligent, interactive bottle system featuring an internal stir bar that creates the brand’s signature vortex.
Equipped with a patented VCU system, the bottle features a range of LED sequences. Through the brand’s AI-enhanced app, users can personalise lighting colours, pulse patterns, vortex speeds, and curated shows.
The bottle includes a USB-C port base and a charging cable. To replace empty bottles, the base can be lifted off and a new compatible bottle inserted.
Amoon Spirits was established by Indianapolis entrepreneurs Mark McLaurine II and Christopher Tooley, who dedicated six years to developing the technology and packaging.
The company aims to create a new category of connected luxury by merging artisanal vodka with app-driven customisation and visual effects.
Tooley said: “Our goal is for every first-time consumer to feel a sense of wonder the moment they encounter Amoon. That spark of imagination and discovery is what drives us.”
McLaurine added: “Amoon was built to redefine the cocktail experience. We wanted to create an entirely new ultra-premium segment.
“By ‘awaken the spirit’, we’re referring to more than the product. It’s about hope, friendship, connection– the energy that comes alive when you’re with people you enjoy. That’s what we set out to create with Amoon.”
Made with sweet potatoes and corn, the gluten-free vodka is handcrafted in the Catskills Mountains of New York.
The Amoon Vodka with VCU has a suggested retail price of US$249.99. Replacement bottles for the unit will retail for US$49.99.
Amoon Vodka is also available without the smart features, with an SRP of US$39.99.
The range is now available from Amoon Spirits’ website and ReserveBar.
All core app functions can be accessed without a subscription. The first 2,500 buyers of the full VCU system through the Amoon Spirits website will receive a complimentary one-year premium-tier subscription, valued at US$79.
Amoon Spirits plans additional product releases. Upcoming features include gamified experiences, over-the-air (OTA) updates, and a wider range of VCU-compatible spirits, such as flavoured vodkas, gins, Tequilas, and Bourbons, along with new alcohol concepts.
