Patrón XO Cafe returns to the UK

Four years after the expression was discontinued, Patrón XO Cafe will be stocked exclusively at Tesco supermarkets in the UK.

Patrón’s parent company Bacardi called time on the flavoured Tequila liqueur in 2021, a move it said would enable the brand to focus on its core expressions.

The liqueur made a limited comeback in the US last year, however British fans were left looking for alternatives.

Fans can now purchase a 700ml bottle from Tesco stores or website for £46 (US$62).

The supermarket chain has also created a variety of recipes based around the expression, such as the Gingerbread Tiramisu, Chocolate Orange Espresso Martini and White Russian Brownie.

The expression is made with a mix of Patrón Tequila and Arabica coffee and is bottled at 35% ABV.

Patrón Tequila recently unveiled a new visual identity for its bottle and packaging – the first design refresh for the brand since its launch in 1989.

The brand has been embroiled in a debate with Tequila’s regulatory body – the Consejo Regulador del Tequila – over its additive-free marketing.
