Highclere Castle Gin lands in Canada
By Miona MadsenBritish brand Highclere Castle Gin has partnered with Kinetic Brands to launch in Canada through the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO).

Highclere Castle Gin is now available at LCBO retail locations across Ontario, priced at CA$39 (US$28).
As one of the world’s largest alcohol retailers, the LCBO serves as a crucial entry point into Canada.
In addition to the LCBO, Highclere Castle Gin will also be available at Fairmont Le Château Frontenac in Quebec through special order.
The gin brand’s entry into the market aims to provide Canadians with an alternative to spirits impacted by US tariffs.
Adam von Gootkin, spirits entrepreneur, founder, and CEO of Highclere Castle Gin, said: “Canada spoke and we listened. The LCBO is a retail leader on the global stage, and Highclere Castle Gin is a leader in our category. This is a perfect match as we work to satiate the thirst of our Canadian friends.”
Von Gootkin and the eighth Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, owners of Highclere Castle in England, founded the London Dry gin brand in 2019. It is crafted with estate-grown botanicals, including lavender, citrus, and oats from the castle grounds.
Highclere Castle is the filming location for TV show Downton Abbey. The site attracts more than 135,000 visitors each year.
Since its launch in 2019, the gin has earned more than 200 industry accolades.
Lady Carnarvon said: “We are absolutely delighted that Highclere Castle Gin is now available throughout Ontario, Canada. There is a deep and enduring connection between Highclere Castle and Canada, as it was within the walls of the castle that Lord Carnarvon steered the discussions that culminated in the creation of the Dominion of Canada on 1 July 1867.
“So many of the founding fathers of Canada stayed at Highclere and were hosted by Lord and Lady Carnarvon. Therefore, we are most honoured to share our gin, inspired by Highclere’s gardens and history, with Canadians; it feels like a truly meaningful continuation of our legacy.”
Highclere Castle Gin is available in England, Denmark, Switzerland, Malta, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, Dubai Duty Free, and 32 US states.
The brand plans to expand into Nicaragua in the first quarter of 2026, as well as into additional markets throughout the year.
