Galaxy Bar pens cocktail book
Dubai-based Galaxy Bar has published a cocktail book that details 60 original recipes, complete with professional tips on bar tools and more.
Titled Galaxy Bar Cocktails, the book was created by the bar’s beverage director Krystian Hordejuk, and Natasha Sideris, CEO and founder of the hospitality group behind Galaxy Bar, Tashas Group.
It aims to “capture the energy and feeling of being within our space, inspiring home bartenders, professionals and enthusiasts alike to try new flavour combinations and techniques to create thrilling journeys of their own,” Hordejuk said in the book’s introduction.
The book clocks in at more than 220 pages and is divided into two parts. The first part introduces the fundamentals of bartending, such as tools, techniques, ice, and glassware, while the second part reveals 60 original recipes created by Hordejuk.
The recipes are split between five chapters that each represent a particular flavour profile, with 12 recipes for each. The flavours take readers from ‘clean and aromatic’, to ‘bold and earthy’, to ‘fresh and fruity’.
Each recipe also outlines the skill level needed to make the serve, as well as the flavour profile, core alcohol, glassware, ice, technique and garnish. There are also additional sub-recipes for homemade cordials, syrups and garnishes, all on the same page for each reference.
All cocktails recipes and tools are supported with striking visuals from photographer Juliet Dunne.
The book is for both seasoned professionals in need of new inspiration and ‘adventurous enthusiasts’ eager to elevate their cocktail skills.
Sideris said: “We wanted this book to capture the moods and moments of Galaxy Bar – the atmosphere, the craft, and the creativity – and bring them to life through bold design, sleek photography, and our signature cocktail recipes.
“It’s an invitation to step into our world of cocktail art and take a piece of Galaxy home.”
Presented in hardback format, Galaxy Bar Cocktails is priced at AED$320 (£65/US$87) and is available in Dubai at Galaxy Bar, Collective Africa, and all Le Clos stores across the UAE, including Dubai International Airport, Terminal 3 arrivals and Concourse B.
Additionally the book can be purchased at Kwānt Mayfair in the UK, and will also be available at Athens Bar Show, when the team takes over A for Athens in November.
Galaxy Bar is located in DIFC Dubai and was created by Sideris, inspired by her Greek heritage and the night sky over Athens.
The bar was recently awarded a pin by the Pinnacle Guide.
