Ardnahoe adds cask strength to core range
By Miona MadsenHunter Laing & Co’s Islay-based Ardnahoe Distillery has introduced a cask strength single malt to its core range.

The new cask strength edition is the third permanent expression from the distillery, joining Ardnahoe Infinite Loch smoky single malt and oloroso Sherry cask-aged Bholsa.
Matured exclusively in first-fill Bourbon barrels, the five-year-old single malt is bottled at 60.9% ABV.
On the nose, the whisky offers aromas of coastal brine, earthy peat, and cocoa. The palate reveals additional notes of orchard fruits, herbal tea, and salted caramel, culminating in a smoky finish with hints of citrus.
David Livingstone, distillery manager of Ardnahoe, said: “The third bottling in our core range is a very special one and a significant moment for the distillery. Cask strength whisky is undiluted – bottled straight from the cask, allowing for a more intense flavour profile and more control for the drinker to dilute as they please.”
Ardnahoe Cask Strength Edition will be available from 30 October on the distillery’s website and specialist retailers worldwide, retailing for £65 (US$87).
The launch will be celebrated with a small event at the distillery on the same day, featuring a tasting and a bottle signing by Livingstone.
Ardnahoe began distillation in 2018 and officially opened in 2019 as the ninth distillery on the Scottish Isle of Islay.
The distillery launched its first single malt, the Inaugural Release, in May 2024. Other limited releases from Ardnahoe include Manager’s Selection, Society 2024, and Skyrrevore XX.
