Tito’s makes headway in South America

Speaking of the importance of the two markets, Alex Borbolla, commercial director, international at Tito’s Handmade Vodka, said: “Not including bitters, vodka is the largest-selling spirits category in Argentina, according to recent IWSR data.
“We’re enormously excited that, thanks to our friends at Bodegas Salentein, vodka drinkers in Argentina will now finally be able to enjoy Tito’s Handmade Vodka in this very important South American market.
“Peru is also a very key market in the region, especially with the growing tourism in that country, and we’re looking forward to working with the team at Bebidas Premium to strengthen our presence there.”
For its arrival in Argentina, the brand has partnered with Buenos Aires-based Bodegas Salentein, one of the country’s premier wine and spirits companies.
The company’s CEO, Juan Molina, said: “We’re proud to be the first in Argentina to represent and distribute such an iconic US brand with a strong global footprint.
“We’re delighted to welcome Tito’s Handmade Vodka to our wines and spirits portfolio, which has robust reach across the country’s key volume and prestige channels.”
Meanwhile, Lima-based Bebidas Premium will import and distribute the brand in Peru.
Orlando Villalobos, portfolio manager at Bebidas Premium, added: “We are confident that Tito’s strong brand equity, together with Bebidas Premium’s position as the leading importer and distributor of spirits in the country, represents the optimal synergy to capture market share and strengthen the brand positioning in the Peruvian market.”
Tito’s is the biggest-selling vodka in the US, but in recent years the brand’s focus has also been on global growth, with entries into South Korea and a targeted push in Europe’s bar scene.
The Texan-made vodka is available in 149 domestic markets.
