Spirit Master: Borg Vodka
By Miona MadsenCrafted with pure spring water from the Swedish mountains, Borg Vodka honours a century of family legacy. We explore this Gold-winning spirit in more detail.

Borg Vodka, made in Stockholm by Borg of Sweden, has received several industry accolades since its launch in late 2024.
Most recently, it was awarded Gold medals at The Vodka Masters 2025 in the Ultra-Premium and Smooth categories.
Borg Vodka impressed the judges with its “bright and fresh, slightly spicy and herbal palate, with a well-integrated and textured finish”.
The name ‘Borg’, which means ‘castle’ or ‘fortification’ in Swedish, was bestowed upon the family’s great-grandfather by the Swedish army in 1890. For more than a century, the name has served as a guiding force in the Swedish business landscape and continues to influence the family’s business ventures through generations.
Borg Vodka began as an idea 15 years ago, inspired by a commitment to high-quality, Swedish-made products and the desire to continue the Borg family’s legacy. After years of perfecting the recipe, Borg premium vodka officially launched in 2024.
The water and spring wheat used to make the vodka are sourced locally, with water collected from a natural spring in the Swedish mountains and the wheat organically grown by local farmers before being milled on site. Borg Vodka is also bottled on the distillery grounds. Distilled slowly using a unique process, the result is a ‘smooth vodka with sweetness and a prominent boldness.’
Supporting the local community is important to the distillery – as is keeping its environmental footprint low. In addition to production, water also has a wider role to play at the distillery, as it helps generate renewable energy.
