The hire of Steve Bronson coincides with Southern Glazer’s enhanced investment in technology

Southern Glazer’s has a 10-year supply chain transformation strategy called ‘2030 Vision’, which will enable it to become the hospitality industry’s ‘most valued selling, logistics and insights provider’ by 2030.

A part of the strategy is the creation of a One Tech organisation, a digital acceleration team working towards long-term digital transformation for the company.

In the new role, Bronson will be working closely with the team, overseeing enterprise technology strategy and execution.

He said: “Technology is core to the company’s Vision 2030, and I look forward to helping unlock new capabilities that will strengthen operations, elevate customer experiences, and drive sustainable growth.”

Bronson was previously senior vice-president of global technology infrastructure and operations at McDonald’s, where he spearheaded the company’s international technology transformation.

He has also held senior technology leadership roles at CDK Global, Nike and Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Southern Glazer’s said he brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience to the position, including expertise in technology innovation, digital transformation, and enterprise modernisation.

Bronson will report to Southern Glazer’s chief growth and strategy officer David Chaplin, as part of the OneTech function.

Chaplin said: “We are thrilled to welcome Steve to Southern Glazer’s at such a pivotal time in our technology transformation journey.”

“His experience driving large-scale transformation in complex, global organisations will be invaluable as we accelerate our investments in technology to fuel growth and customer value.”

Last month, SGWS purchased brewing giant Anheuser-Busch’s New York City distribution business for an undisclosed sum.
