Cincoro Tequila lands Annabel’s partnership

Michael Jordan’s Tequila brand Cincoro has partnered with London private member’s club Annabel’s for its annual Amazon fundraiser.

Cincoro Tequila is a sponsor for this year’s Annabel’s for the Amazon.

Every September the private member’s club, located in London’s Berkeley Square, hosts a month-long charity fundraiser for the Amazonian Rainforest, which coincides with World Amazon Day (5 September).

Funds raised from the initiative go directly to The Caring Family Foundation’s reforestation work and support for indigenous communities.

For its role in this year’s edition, Cincoro has created a one-off cocktail menu for Annabel’s.

The menu includes creations such as the Pantanal, described as a bold and complex blend of Cincoro añejo, banana rum and coffee vermouth with a touch of tonka bean; and the Paloma Pitaia, which is said to be a a refreshing twist on the classic Paloma, composed of Cincoro Blanco, pink pitaya, honeydew melon, and basil.

The partnership with Annabel’s follows last year’s announcement that the brand had partnered with distributor Mangrove Global to bring its premium Tequilas to the UK market.

Quentin Job, managing director – international at Cincoro Tequila, said: “Our collaboration with Annabel’s and Mangrove Global marks a pivotal moment for Cincoro Tequila in the UK.

“To see Cincoro Tequila featured in one of London’s most iconic clubs with cocktails crafted for a cause as meaningful as the Annabel’s for the Amazon campaign, is both a privilege and a reflection of our commitment to greatness.

“We look forward to continuing to share our liquid and exceptional experiences with discerning audiences across the UK.”

Over the past year, Mangrove has gained listings for the brand in Selfridge’s, Hedonism, The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt, as well as in high-end London venues such as Bacchanalia, Sexy Fish, and Scott’s.

In November, the brand will be available at Harrod’s.

Speaking of the UK strategy for Cincoro, Nick Gillett, managing director of Mangrove Global, said: “The approach we’ve taken in partnership with Cincoro Tequila is evidence of the success that can be had with a deep understanding of your customer, and the right industry relationships. Almost every spirit category is crowded now, it’s not easy to cut through and stand out – but that’s exactly what Cincoro Tequila has achieved with this uniquely curated approach.

“As a brand, Cincoro obviously comes with a lot of star-power and entrepreneurial vision behind it, thanks to its five founders. But that’s not the only key to its success. The liquids are exceptional; a perfectly crafted range that appeals to a seasoned, sophisticated Tequila drinker.”

The brand was founded in 2019 by Michael Jordan together with four NBA-associated friends; Jeanie Buss, controlling owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, Wes Edens co-owner of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Emilia Fazzalari and Wyc Grousbeck, co-owners of the Boston Celtics.

Recently, the brand has been dealt a class action lawsuit that alleges it is not made from 100% Blue Weber agave.

The brand’s response to the allegation said: “Cincoro is, and always has been, crafted exclusively from 100% Blue Weber agave. We stand firmly behind the integrity of our brand and will vigorously defend it both in court.”
