Chivas Brothers unveils lots for Distillers One of One

Pernod Ricard’s Scotch whisky arm, Chivas Brothers, has shared additional details and images of its two single malt donations for this year’s Distillers One of One charity auction.

The charity auction features some of the rarest Scotch whiskies and will take place on 10 October at Hopetoun House near Edinburgh in collaboration with Sotheby’s.

For the third biannual auction, Chivas Brothers has donated two whiskies – The Glenlivet Spira and Aberlour The Mouth of the Chattering Burn – both representing the oldest single malt bottled from the distilleries.

The Glenlivet Spira was distilled on 1 October 1965 and matured for six decades in a single hogshead.

The one-off 60-year-old single malt is bottled at cask strength, displaying aromas of homemade orange marmalade, apple, sultana cake, sweet liquorice, salted caramel, lemon peel, and Earl Grey tea. The palate offers notes of ripe pear, sweet kiwifruit, vanilla nougat, ripe apricot, heather honey, roasted pistachios, and cinnamon.

Named after the Latin word for ‘spiral’, the Spira decanter is inspired by ‘the dance of the vapours within The Glenlivet’s stills and the flowing River Livet’.

The estimated price for The Glenlivet Spira is £60,000-£110,000 (US$80,500-US$147,600), with the full hammer price donated to charity.

The second lot, Aberlour The Mouth of the Chattering Burn, was distilled in 1967 and aged for 53 years in a single cask. The ancient Gaelic meaning of Aberlour inspires the name of the release.

Presented in a handblown magnum glass decanter, the piece was crafted by Swedish master glassblower Micke Johansson in collaboration with master mould maker Gunnar Englund. The surface of the decanter features intricate carvings by glass artist Simon Holm.

The 53-year-old whisky is encased in a wooden presentation box, which also served as the original mould for creating the decanter.

The lot has an estimated hammer price of £20,000-£40,000 (US$26,800-US$53,700).

Other lots in the 2025 Distillers One of One auction include the 46-year-old Port Ellen Prism and Kandoblanc’s 60-year-old Dragon in Clouds.

Distillers’ Charity and Sotheby’s will host their first London exhibition from 19-30 September, showcasing a majority of the 39 one-off lots donated by 35 Scotch whisky distilleries to the 2025 auction.
