Yorkshire Distilling appoints administrators as assets go to auction
The business and assets of Yorkshire Distilling Co will be auctioned in September following the appointment of administrators.

Based across two sites in East Yorkshire in the UK, Yorkshire Distilling Co is a purpose-built contract distillery that offers grain-to-glass distillation, cask storage and recipe development.
The distillery was commissioned in 2024, and the company was positioned as a full-service partner in spirits production, with the resources to produce whisky, gin, rum, flavoured vodkas, and baijiu.
According to the company’s website, Yorkshire Distilling Co boasts a fermentation capacity of 150,000 litres, seven independent copper stills, and 10,000 square feet of excise warehouse space.
While efforts were made to save the business, global economic headwinds, disruption to export markets, and increased operating costs have led to the decision to enter administration and pursue a piecemeal disposal of company assets.
Asset valuer BPI Asset Advisory has been instructed to market the business and assets of Yorkshire Distilling following the appointment of Kelly Burton and Joseph Fox of FRP Advisory as joint administrators.
BPI Asset Advisory has now launched an online auction of the company’s machinery and equipment, with bids closing from Friday 5 September 2025. A viewing day is scheduled for Thursday 4 September.
Luke Hartshorn, BPI Asset Advisory director, commented: “Yorkshire Distilling Co, commissioned in 2024, was built with scale, quality and versatility in mind. This auction offers a unique opportunity for buyers across the drinks and process manufacturing sectors to acquire premium, commercial-grade equipment.
“The equipment’s age and specification will appeal to both established operators and those looking to scale.”
Key assets from the sale include three 5,000-litre Kothe stills, one 400-litre Kothe still, one Hagyo 2,000-litre still, a Meura mash filter, Beonix hot and cold liquor vessels, plus 10 15,000-litre conical vessels, and BSPS grain-handling equipment.
Alongside the distillery equipment, the auction includes a range of laboratory and support assets.
BPI Asset Advisory said early interest has been strong, and prospective buyers are encouraged to register their details, attend the viewing day, and explore the full asset listing online.
