V Rum launches canned cocktails
By Miona MadsenHampshire-based independent distillery V Rum has entered the ready-to-drink (RTD) market with three canned cocktails.

V Rum has made its RTD debut with three rum-based flavours: pink grapefruit mixed Grapefruit Twist, Spiced Rum & Zero Cola and Tropical Crush.
Offered at 7% ABV, the 250ml cocktails are crafted in-house and packaged in sustainably sourced recycled aluminium cans.
RTDs are rapidly growing in the UK, with significant demand, particularly in the off-trade sector. According to Market Research Future data, the market is expected to grow by a further 16% in the next 10 years.
On a global scale, IWSR’s forecast as part of its Global Trends Report 2025 indicate that the market will double between 2019 and 2029, with the US expected to soar by up to 400%.
Carl Churchill, CEO of V Spirits Company, said: “We recognised a clear opportunity in the booming RTD category to bring bar-quality rum into a convenient pre-mixed can format, without compromising on quality or sustainability.
“These RTDs stay true to our craft ethos: premium British rum, responsibly made, packaged for modern lifestyles. Early feedback confirms we’ve hit the mark – vibrant, flavour-forward drinks that pack a punch with a 7% ABV and pour perfectly chilled, straight from the can.
“This launch represents the future of our brand, premium, easy-to-drink, well-crafted and ethically made.”
The new RTD range is currently available only directly from V Rum in the UK.
V Rum was established by Carl and Nicole Churchill after five years of development as their fifth business venture together.
The Hampshire-based distillery operates entirely on renewable energy supplied by Ecotricity. It employs an advanced heat recovery system, rainwater harvesting, and uses UK-refined molasses to minimise transportation emissions.
At The Spirits Business Awards 2025, V Rum will sponsor the Bartender of the Year category.
Earlier this year, the parent company of V Rum, V IP Brands, announced its desire to acquire established spirits brands and distilleries.
