The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.

6 O’Clock Gin will join Dutch Barn Vodka and Y-Gin in Ellers Farm’s portfolio. The distillery is also currently ageing an English single malt whisky.

Gervais said: “I love what we’re building at Ellers Farm. The ambition to take great British spirits to the world is one of the reasons I got involved. We’ve got Dutch Barn Vodka, Y-Gin, a single malt whisky on the way, and now 6 O’Clock. Which is a good time to start drinking – PM, that is.”

Ellers Farm was founded in 2020, while Gervais invested in the business in 2023.

His arrival was part of a plan to catapult the company’s Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka into the big leagues, as he told The Spirits Business in April 2024.

Chris Fraser, founder and CEO of Ellers Farm, added: “This is a big step in our long-term growth strategy.

“6 O’Clock Gin is a respected premium gin brand, rooted in craft, character and connection. It aligns perfectly with our values, and we’re excited to bring fresh energy, investment and international reach to the brand, while staying true to the qualities that have made it so well loved.”

The business said the acquisition supports its goal to ‘offer a collection of the finest spirits that inspire moments of connection, joy, and style’.

Ellers Farm plans to expand 6 O’Clock Gin’s distribution and marketing in order to elevate its presence in the ‘highly competitive’ gin category.

The company is based in Stamford Bridge, Yorkshire – SB paid a visit earlier this year.
