Peddlers Gin lands in US
By Miona MadsenChinese craft gin Peddlers has partnered with distributor Formosa Imports to debut in the US, first launching in California.

Shanghai’s ‘first’ craft gin Peddlers is currently available in more than 20 countries worldwide. Its US debut is part of its global expansion plan, with the brand exploring further opportunities in the States in the next 18 months.
Rio Liu, co-founder and chief commercial officer, said: “We are incredibly excited about launching in the US. The US is the birthplace of cocktail culture and has a diverse and curious population that is already familiar with some of the unique Asian ingredients we use, like Sichuan pepper and lotus.”
Peddlers is made with nine other botanicals, including Buddha’s Hand. These are said to embody the brand’s philosophy of combining traditions and ingredients from the West and East.
The brand’s gin portfolio includes a Salted Plum Gin, made by infusing salted plum, orange peel and mulberry, which is then aged in Sherry casks. Its barrel-aged gin is matured in old Napa Valley Pinot Noir barrels.
John Lin, founder of Formosa Imports, added: “We’re thrilled to bring Peddlers Gin stateside. We find it increasingly rare for a spirit to be world-class and steeped in such a rich cultural history.
“Peddlers innovatively reimagines the classic London Dry with distinctly Chinese botanicals. We’re excited for American consumers to explore these new flavour profiles.”
Earlier this month, Peddlers entered the Mongolian market in partnership with MSM BetaStar.
In July, the gin brand launched its Passage cocktail competition in Canada.
