Jawbox Gin joins Belfast airport showcase
By Miona MadsenIrish gin brand Jawbox will participate in Belfast City Airport’s upcoming celebration of local distillers as part of its ‘That’s The Spirit’ initiative.

The week-long celebration, taking place from 23 to 30 August, will showcase distillers from Northern Ireland, allowing passengers to sample premium spirits from some of the region’s most famous distilleries.
Gerry White, founder of Jawbox Gin, said: “We’re delighted that Jawbox Gin is part of Belfast City Airport’s ‘That’s the Spirit’ campaign, a brilliant initiative that shines a spotlight on the quality and creativity of local spirits.
“We’ll be sampling our signature ‘Original Gin & Ginger’ serve, which was created as an appealing alternative to tonic for those who dislike the taste of quinine. The light spice of ginger ale perfectly complements the 11 botanicals in Jawbox, offering an authentic Belfast serve with the potential to open up the category to a whole new wave of gin drinkers.”
White added: “Our partnership with the airport and World Duty Free has helped us connect with a global audience, and this campaign is a fantastic way to celebrate local provenance and craft. We hope travellers are inspired to discover the story behind Jawbox Gin and take a little taste of Northern Ireland with them.”
In addition to Jawbox Gin, represented by Kirker Greer Spirits, the World Duty Free at Belfast City Airport will offer samples of spirits from Copeland, Basalt, Boatyard, Hinch, and Titanic Distillers. Brand representatives will be present to share tasting notes and insights about their distilling process, with ‘each bottle telling a story of local heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation’.
Michael Jackson, head of commercial at Belfast City Airport, commented on the initiative: “As an airport at the heart of the city, we are passionate about showcasing the very best that Northern Ireland has to offer. We share our distillers’ pride in their creations and want to support local producers, giving our passengers a true taste of the place that we are fortunate enough to call home.”
“From gin to whiskey, vodka, and even rum, World Duty Free’s shelves are filled with a showcase of the best distilleries, producing premium spirits right here in Northern Ireland, and we would encourage our passengers to join us in August as we raise a glass to the distillers turning local passion into world-class products.”
Additionally, restaurants The Artisan and Samson’s Kitchen and Bar will provide special promotions as part of the initiative.
