J Mattingly releases flood relief Bourbon
Kentucky-based whiskey maker J Mattingly is aiming to raise US$10,000 for flood relief through the launch of a five-year old Bourbon.

J Mattingly 1845 Distillery in Frankfort has announced the release of Frankfort Rising Bourbon, with US$30 from each bottle sold going towards the Franklin County Community Fund.
In April, the lower Ohio Valley experienced widespread flash flooding. J Mattingly moved to Frankfort in 2023, and while the distillery was spared, its owners and team members were among those affected.
“Seeing the devastation of the floodwaters here in our new hometown was just heartbreaking, and we wanted to do something to help,” Susanna Westerfield, director of consumer experience, said.
“Through our partnership with the Franklin County Community Fund, we hope to raise at least US$10,000 to help our local friends and neighbours recover from their horrific losses.”
The five-year-old Bourbon (56% ABV) will bea vailable to buy from the distillery on 14 August from 4pm with a price tag of US$120.
The whiskey offers notes of graham cracker, toasted oak, and gentle spice.
Following the April floods, Buffalo Trace Distillery, also located in Frankfort, had to temporarily shut down as it assessed and repaired damages.
In early July, J Mattingly announced that the distillery had been sold to private equity firm Gold Corn & Co.
