Italicus celebrates ninth anniversary
By Miona MadsenItalian brand Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto will mark its ninth anniversary on 1 September by launching a month-long Art of Aperitivo initiative.

Also known as Rosolio Day, 1 September marks the launch of Italicus Aperitivo Weeks, which are dedicated to Italian aperitivo culture.
Giuseppe Gallo, founder of Italicus, said: “The aperitivo continues to grow as a cultural and social ritual across the world. Rosolio Day and Italicus Weeks are a way for us to celebrate this heritage with bartenders and consumers globally, and to showcase how Italicus can shape and inspire the modern cocktail scene with a new way to Spritz.”
This year, nine countries will host week-long events in select bars, each representing one year: Italy, the UK, France, Spain, Switzerland, Poland, the USA, New Zealand, and Hong Kong.
The bar activations will feature specially crafted cocktail menus dedicated to Italicus. Consumers will have the opportunity to discover the Italicus Spritz and explore the versatility of Rosolio di Bergamotto through craft cocktails.
Some of the bars participating in the celebrations globally include Time Out Market in New York City, US; Viceversa in Miami, US; L’Antiquario in Naples, Italy; Bar de Luxe in Hong Kong; and The Regent in Wellington, New Zealand.

A full list of participating bars can be found on the brand’s website.
To commemorate this year’s anniversary, Italicus has partnered with Italian visual artist Fabiola Sangineto, the winner of Italicus’ Creative Talent 2021 competition in Italy. The commissioned anniversary piece is said to bring to life the aperitivo culture and a visual expression of Italicus’ role in today’s global scene.
At The Drinks Business Awards 2025, Italicus Rosolio Day took home the top spot as the Consumer Campaign of the Year.
Founded in 2016 by Gallo, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto was created to ‘revive the almost forgotten Rosolio category’, highlighting notes of Calabrian bergamot and Italian botanicals.
Earlier this year, the brand celebrated the winners of its seventh The Art of Italicus Aperitivo Challenge cocktail competition, where contestants were tasked with reimagining the Spritz.
