Glen Scotia evolves brand identity with 12YO
By Georgie CollinsTo mark the beginning of a new brand identity, Campbeltown distillery Glen Scotia has added a 12-year-old single malt to its permanent lineup.

The new flagship Glen Scotia 12 Years Old is described as a bold yet classic addition to the brand’s core range, and brings the ‘unmistakably’ rich and coastal notes the distillery is renowned for.
The single malt joins the distillery’s 10-, 15-, 18- and 25-year-old expressions, and marks the beginning of a new look and feel for the brand.
Presented in royal blue and chalk white packaging, the design for the 12-year-old takes inspiration from the distillery’s blue dunnage warehouse door and exterior wall.
This bold new colour way has launched in tandem with Glen Scotia’s new brand identity, which will be rolled out across all of its communications.
Kevin Wood, global brand manager of Glen Scotia, said: “The launch of the new 12-year-old and our refreshed brand identity marks an exciting new chapter for Glen Scotia.
“The new 12-year-old is quintessentially Glen Scotia – from the royal blue and chalk white packaging referencing our dunnage door and exterior wall, to the bold Campbeltown character within, bursting with tropical fruit flavours that are perfectly balanced with our maritime influence.”

The single malt was fully matured in first-fill Bourbon casks for ‘vibrant depth and richness of flavour’, putting the distillery’s ‘big Campbeltown character’ in the spotlight.
Aromas of fresh sea air, honeyed vanilla and hints of tropical fruit can be detected on the nose, while on the palate, layers of caramelised sugar, citrus and pineapple are balanced with subtle toasted oak and a long warming finish that offers notes of cinnamon and a touch of nutmeg spice.
Iain McAlister, master distiller and distillery manager of Glen Scotia, said: “The Glen Scotia 12 Years Old is a bold new classic that will become the heart of our core range representing our signature style and offering whisky lovers a true taste of Campbeltown.
“Campbeltown is the smallest whisky-producing region, where our small team use uniquely small stills to craft our whiskies with big Campbeltown flavours that have made big waves across the world.
“This expression perfectly captures our signature style and embodies the ethos of Glen Scotia – a small, passionate team honouring traditional methods to create bold, distinctive flavours that we’re proud to share with the world.”
Glen Scotia 12 Years Old clocks in at 46% ABV, is natural in colour and non-chill-filtered.
It is available for £45 (US$61) exclusively on glenscotia.com and through The Whisky Shop.
Earlier this year, Glen Scotia unveiled a 50-year-old whisky – the first edition in its new Elements of Campbeltown collection.
