Pernod Ricard’s Scotch arm, Chivas Brothers, and Midleton Very Rare have launched the five-day Grand Whisk(e)y Tour, which includes a private jet to Ireland and accommodation.

The Grand Whisk(e)y Tour includes visits to The Glenlivet, Strathisla, and Midleton distilleries

Taking place from 6 to 10 October, the exclusive five-day whisky tour invites 10 guests on a journey through two countries and three distilleries.

Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the behind-the-scenes operations of four Pernod Ricard brands: Royal Salute, Chivas Regal, The Glenlivet, and Midleton Very Rare.

The experience begins at Strathisla, where Chivas Brothers’ master blender Sandy Hyslop takes the guests on a Liquid Library Aroma Journey, ‘an exploration of fresh spirits and the depth of cask finishes’. At Speyside, the tour will also include a visit to The Vault, an exclusive collection of rare whiskies and casks from across the Chivas Brothers’ portfolio, and a stay at Linn House.

On the second day, the journey continues at The Glenlivet Distillery and a private Highland lunch at Ballindalloch Castle, hosted by Laird Guy MacPherson-Grant.

After two days in Scotland, guests will board a private jet to County Cork, Ireland, for a ‘unique’ experience at Midleton Distillery, which is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year.

On the fourth day, the tour continues with an innovation session at Midleton at the Irish Whiskey Academy, concluding with a cask-side tasting hosted by master distiller Kevin O’Gorman. The tasting highlights the final chapter of the Midleton Very Rare Silent Distillery Collection, a limited edition 50-year-old single pot still whiskey, with only 225 decanters available worldwide.

In Ireland, the guests will be offered two nights of accommodation and breakfast at five-star hotel Castlemartyr Resort.

Enquiries for the ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ Grand Whisk(e)y Tour can be made at the event’s dedicated website. An individual ticket is priced at £13,000 (US$17,500) while for a couple (based on double occupancy), the price is £24,300 (US32,700).
