Top 10 new Tequila-based RTDs
National Tequila Day is here, and what better way to celebrate than with the latest wave of Tequila-based ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails?

As consumers crave convenience without sacrificing quality, and Tequila’s popularity persists, brands are continuing to shake things up with fresh, flavourful creations that combine the two.
Whether you’re a purist or love a creative twist, these 10 newbies to the drinks scene have something for every Tequila drinker.
El Rayo Tequila Tonic
In the spring, Tequila brand El Rayo made its first move into the RTD space. The canned version of its signature Tequila Tonic serve combines the brand’s Plata expression with an artisanal tonic and a hint of fresh grapefruit.
El Rayo has been banging the drum that Tequila is so much more than a party spirit designed to be slammed since its launch. This release is described as the natural next step in the brand’s mission to inspire people to drink the spirit differently.
Presented in slimline 250ml cans and resting at 7% ABV per serve, keeping a couple in your fridge means you can always be ready to bring some versatility to your evening drinking.
Sierra Margaritas
Heading to a UK Lidl or Aldi store any time soon? Make sure you swing your trolley past the booze aisle and stock up on a few cans of Sierra Tequila’s ready-to-drink Margaritas to add a fruity twist to your on-the-go drinking.
Available now in lime or strawberry flavours at Lidl stores, and due to debut in fellow discount supermarket Aldi later this summer, Sierra’s RTDs are made with blanco Tequila and offered at 6% ABV.
The RTDs initially launched in Germany in April this year, before arriving in the UK in May at convenience stores and online through Amazon.
The Lost Explorer x Lockdown Liquor & Co
Crafted in collaboration with Lockdown Liquor & Co, this tropical twist on the classic Tommy’s Margarita is the ultimate summer serve. Made with The Lost Explorer’s small-batch, premium Tequila blanco, the blend of ripe passion fruit and fresh lime gives the perfect balance of sweet and tart, complemented by the crisp, peppery finish of the Tequila.
The result is a tropical, zesty, and refreshing cocktail that is ready to pour into a shaker with ice before shaking and straining into a Tajín-rimmed rocks glass over fresh ice. Finish with a lime wheel garnish to elevate the serve to a bar-worthy experience.
Casamigos Margarita
The brand may be under scrutiny at the moment due to some eyebrow-raising allegations of false advertising, but that hasn’t stopped George Clooney’s Casamigos from moving into the RTD space. The line-up of four Margaritas features the Diageo-owned brand’s blanco Tequila, natural flavours, triple sec and fruit juice.
The four flavours include Passionfruit & Prickly Pear, Guava & Hibiscus, Strawberry & Colima Lime and Classic Lime. Each non-carbonated 200ml can has an ABV of 10%.
Moth Spicy Margarita
The Moth Spicy Margarita is a twist on the brand’s best-selling classic Marg, which has been dominating the category for some time now. With the addition of spice bringing a new dimension to the expression, Moth launched this canned cocktail in the spring in tandem with the growing trends for Tequila and spicy flavours.
Dad Water
Fruit-infused vodka water Mom Water recently expanded its family with the addition of Dad Water – a range of four non-carbonated fruit-infused Tequila water flavours that rest at 5.25% ABV.
All Dad Water expressions contain no artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Plus, each expression is named after dads that are near and dear to the founder’s families – Tom (Lime), Steve (Grapefruit), Rodney (Blood Orange), and Gary (Pineapple Jalapeño) – paying tribute to dads everywhere.
Whitebox Spicy Marg
Just in case the name wasn’t clear enough, Whitebox is counting on the big, bold chilli printed on the can to let you know it has brought the heat to this punchy 20.5% ABV Margarita.
Crafted by infusing Tequila with whole chillis – jalapeño, ancho and bell pepper – and coriander, the result is said to be ‘perfect balance of sour, sweet and fiery’.
For those who prefer it milder, Whitebox also does a classic, the straight-up Squeezy’s Margarita. This is canned at 19% ABV and combines lime and triple sec with a hint of salt for a bar-quality serve.
Coppa Cocktails
Back in June, Coppa Cocktails added three new flavours to its RTD range, including two that are bringing Tequila to the fore.
The Spicy Margarita and Paloma Spritz mark the first new product development for Coppa Cocktails since the brand was acquired by MG Destilerías in 2024. Each has been developed by mixologists using natural juices, real distillates, and layered recipes.
While the Spicy Margarita offers a ‘fiery twist’ on the Mexican classic, blending Tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur with chilli, the Paloma Spritz is a lightly sparkling blend of Tequila, grapefruit, lime juice, and a pinch of salt.
Juan, Please
With top marks for its punny name, Juan, Please is a Tequila-based lemonade and tea cocktail that is shaking up the RTD space in the US.
Described as more than just a drink, Juan, Please is a brand rooted in Mexican heritage, New York grit, and a clear mission to challenge the old-school industry playbook. With one gram of sugar and 7% ABV, there’s a solid chance that this is set to be your favourite pregame drink for on-the-go.
White Claw Tequila Smash
Back in May, White Claw made waves in the UK with two Tequila Smash launches: Strawberry Lime and Mango Passion Fruit.
The range is a giant leap for White Claw, as it stepped outside the formula thirsty fans know and love, incorporating 100% agave Tequila blanco, alongside a squeeze of real, vibrant fruit juice.
Each comes in 250ml cans, with consumers able to choose between the rush of rich strawberry with a lime zing sensation and the classic flavour combination of buttery mango and deliciously tangy passion fruit.
