Hayman Distillers to open London Rum House
Family-owned spirits producer Hayman Distillers will open a brand home for Merser rum in southwest London later this year.
The new rum experience, called London Rum House, will be located in Balham and will offer the chance to explore the history of the spirit, try different styles, and even blend your own rum.
Additionally, the venue will house barrels of Merser’s blends for ageing.
Construction of the new site is set to begin soon, with further details to be provided later this year.
James Hayman, co-owner of Merser Rum, commented: “Our new London rum house has been in development for several years, and we are excited that works are about to start. It will offer an experience and bring rum to life for both the trade and consumer in a way that has not been possible before. It is the perfect home for Merser.”
Merser Rum made its debut in 2019 with Double Barrel. The brand is owned by James and Miranda Hayman, who are behind B Corp-certified Hayman Distillers, known for Hayman’s Gin and Respirited British Made Vodka.
All rums are made with third-party liquid and created in a blending house in central London.
The range includes Merser Signature, Reserve, and recently launched White, a blend of unaged rums from Barbados, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, bottled at 40% ABV.
Hayman added: “Merser White is an authentic Caribbean rum of the highest quality to offer a real alternative to mass-made neutral white rums and expensive craft brands. The initial feedback has been very positive from early conversations.”
At The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2025, Merser White was awarded a Gold medal.
