Laphroaig 2025 Càirdeas goes global
Lore Cask Strength initially debuted in May during Islay festival Fèis Ìle and to Friends of Laphroiag club members.

Laphroaig’s 2025 Càirdeas release, Lore Cask Strength, is getting a wider release, hitting US and global markets this month. The whisky is bottled at 59.6% ABV and marries some of the distillery’s favourite cask types including oloroso Sherry, European oak, ex-Bourbon, and quarter casks.
The original Laphroaig Lore debuted in 2016 when John Campbell, former distillery manager, sought to create an extremely rich expression that personified house qualities like peat, dryness, florality, sweetness, and spice. That original whisky was bottled at 48% ABV.
“Since its release, the original Lore has become a fan favourite. It makes perfect sense then to follow up with a cask strength version,” Simon Brooking, national Scotch brand ambassador for Laphroaig owner Suntory Global Spirits, said.
“This Laphroaig 2025 Cask Strength Lore ramps up the taste experience at 59.6% ABV bringing to the table a zestier, saltier version with hints of spice, wood and pepper finished with a deep rich Islay peat and a hint of sweet citrus.”
On the nose, Lore Cask Strength offers aromas of apricot, peaches in syrup, lemon cream, and vanilla fudge. The palate brings salted limes, fresh mint, and tea leaves.
The whisky is priced at US$110.
