‘World’s first’ pizza vodka launches
By Lauren BowesISCO Spirits has distilled a pizza, featuring organic wheat, herbs, spices, tomatoes and mozzarella, to create a vodka.

Bottled at 40% ABV, it is described as ‘weirdly comforting and undeniably delicious’.
The expression was created as a limited edition release for the state of Rhode Island, but it will now roll out across the US.
ISCO says the vodka is ‘notably versatile’ and suggests drinking it as a shot, alongside shredded Parmesan and a pepperoncini pepper, in a serve it has named the Italian Stallion.
Other serves include the Caprese Martini; the Vice City, which is made with lemon juice and Coca-Cola; and the Hawaii 5-0, which blends the vodka with pineapple juice, hot sauce and Tajín.
ISCO Pizza Vodka retails for US$19.99 for a 375ml bottle.
Other unusual expressions in its portfolio include the Ostreida Oyster Vodka; the Seaflow Ocean Gin, which features New England seaweed and oysters; and the Fresh Dill Aquavit.
ISCO Spirits –also known as The Industrious Spirit Company – is based in Rhode Island. Its distillery in downtown Providence was the ‘first’ since Prohibition in the state’s capital.
It’s been a week for strangely flavoured spirits, such as Long Road’s asparagus gin.
