What does it take to make award-worthy packaging?
By Melita KielyAfter a quartet of awards were given to bottle designs created by Reis Packaging Europe at Vinitaly 2025, the company shares why it remains a leader in this field.

There is a clear reason why Reis Packaging Europe is trusted by leading spirits brands far and wide: quality. This characteristic seeps into every aspect of the company: from the design stages to the finished product, and the careful relationship building along the way.
It is why the company has received many accolades in the past – most recently seeing a quartet of its bottles recognised at the Vinitaly 2025 Design Awards. The four bottles were designed by Hangar Manzoni, and celebrated as part of outstanding packaging projects led by two graphic design studios.
“For the agency Dario Frattaruolo Design, our Riviera Premiere bottle was used for the Sicula Gin label (customer Mediterraneo), which won the Gold Award,” said Roberto Del Bon, CEO of Reis Packaging Europe. “Additionally, the same agency used our Harrison bottle (customer Distilleria Eterea), which was honoured with both the Black Award and the prestigious Best in Show award. Our Riviera Apotheker bottle won the Black Award for the label Aperitivo del Gallo. All three award-winning label designs were printed by Grafical Srl, a leading company in the sector, which is proudly celebrating 40 years of excellence this year.
“In the Clear Spirits category, our Fulton bottle was used by Celestial Gin, designed in collaboration with graphic designer Andrea Basile’s agency, and won the Gold Award.”
Many additional partners contributed to the award-winning designs, such as photographers, and the full list can be found on Reis Packaging Europe’s LinkedIn page.
So, what makes a standout, award-winning bottle? For Del Bon: “All our bottles are distinguished by their elegant forms and an uncompromising attention to detail. Every element is crafted with both aesthetics and functionality in mind.
“A particularly appreciated feature is the generous label area offered by the body and the carefully designed punt (base), which gives graphic designers ample creative freedom to develop labels that are not only visually striking but also perfectly aligned with the brand’s identity. This harmony between structure and graphics is what makes our bottles stand out.”
Customer comes first
Reis Packaging Europe’s reputation not only stands due to its design capabilities, but the company is known for putting its customers first. This is imperative for the group, and a key reason why it has been so successful in forging long-term partnerships.
“Our mission is to provide excellence at every stage of the production process—from the initial idea to the realisation of the final product,” explains Del Bon. “This means not only delivering high-quality bottles, but also supporting our clients throughout their journey, helping them bring their dream products to life. When, in addition to achieving their product goals, our clients go on to win prestigious international awards like those at Vinitaly, it brings us immense pride and satisfaction. It’s a double reward: their success is also our success.
“We dedicate significant effort to building and maintaining solid partnerships, always based on mutual respect, transparency, and a strong reputation. These values are essential for developing relationships that not only last but continue to grow stronger over time.”
The in-house design department, StudioLab, is instrumental in curating a 360-degree service for Reis Packaging’s customers, from initial ideas to the finished concept.
“At the heart of this process lies a deep and attentive ability to listen to our clients’ needs,” says Del Bon. “This sensitivity, combined with strong technical expertise and solid partnerships with all key players involved – designers, decorators, closure manufacturers, and more – enables us to transform ideas into packaging solutions that are not only aesthetically outstanding, but also fully aligned with the brand’s identity and market positioning.”
And this is why Reis Packaging Europe remains integral to the success of spirits brands everywhere.
