Summer is making us very thirsty for cocktails, so we’ve rounded up 10 of the best recipes to make from home this month.

From Cucumber Coolers to Spritzes and Margaritas, June’s roundup of recipes is all about coping with summer weather through the respite of refreshing cocktails. Additionally, this month’s list also includes a drink that can double as a dessert and a Martini to celebrate National Martini Day (diaries out, 19 June).

Corpse Reviver No. 2

From Highclere Castle Gin comes this classic cocktail originally made with the intent of curing hangovers that you can revive at home (while also curing a hangover if you have one).

Ingredients:

  • 22ml Highclere Castle Gin
  • 22ml Lillet blanc
  • 2ml Orange liqueur
  • 22ml Fresh lemon juice
  • Absinthe, to rinse

Method: Rinse the inside of a chilled coupe or cocktail glass with absinthe, discard the excess and set the glass aside. Add Highclere Castle Gin, Lillet Blanc, orange liqueur, and fresh lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with ice, and shake until well ­chilled. Strain into the prepared glass.


Jawbox Apple & Ginger Southside

Sometimes referred to as gin’s answer to a Mojito, the Southside shares similar traits that lends itself well to outside consumption. Here it’s remixed with Jawbox’s new apple and ginger gin liqueur.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Jawbox Apple & Ginger Gin Liqueur
  • 15ml Lime juice
  • 10ml Sugar syrup
  • Soda water
  • 5-­8 mint leaves
  • Garnish: Slice of apple and a lime wedge

Method: Muddle the mint leaves, lime juice and sugar syrup in a tall glass. Add some ice and the Jawbox Apple & Ginger Gin Liqueur, stir, and top up with soda water.

Cognac in a Margarita? It may sound like cocktail blasphemy at first, but be brave and you’ll be rewarded with this smooth twist.

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Hennessy VS
  • 20ml Fresh lime juice
  • 15ml Orange liqueur
  • 5ml Agave syrup
  • Garnish: Lime wedge, and pink salt for rim

Method: Prepare a short cocktail glass with a pink hibiscus salt rim. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake to chill. Strain into glass with ice and garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy.


Belvedere Dirty Brew Affogato

Drink and dessert rolled into one, and perhaps even your morning coffee too – no judgement…

Ingredients:

  • 30ml Belvedere Dirty Brew
  • One scoop vanilla ice cream

Method: Add one scoop of vanilla ice cream to a coupe. Pour chilled Dirty Brew over the top and serve.

Fans of floral flavours will dig this recipe from Tatratea, and for a fruitier, tropical twist, passionfruit can be subbed in for elderflower syrup.

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Tatratea 47% Flower
  • 20ml Elderflower syrup
  • 100ml Prosecco
  • 100ml Soda
  • Lemon juice
  • Mint
  • Ice

Method: Add mint, Tatratea, elderflower syrup, lemon juice, and soda to a glass filled with ice. Top up with Prosecco and mix gently.


Lady Dragon TNT

Simple, refreshing and low on calories – this is the perfect tonic for a heatwave.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Ladydragón Craft Tequila (Silver or Cristalino)
  • 100ml Slimline tonic water
  • Ice
  • Garnish: Grapefruit slice and maraschino cherry

Method: Fill a tall glass with ice. Pour in Ladydragón Craft Tequila. Top with slimline tonic. Stir gently. Garnish with a grapefruit slice and a cherry.


Herradura Strawberry Margarita

This Margarita wouldn’t look out of place at Wimbledon, or if you’re not attending the tennis tournament this summer, on any big patch of grass.

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Herradura Plata
  • 15ml Elderflower liqueur
  • 20ml Lime juice
  • 5ml Sugar syrup
  • Muddle two strawberries
  • Top with Champagne

Method: Shake, strain and serve straight up.


Maritime Martini

A Dirty Martini that gives you a taste of the sea (minus the sea water), supplemented with peppery notes and salinity from the olive brine.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Isle of Harris Gin
  • 10ml Dry vermouth
  • 10ml High­quality olive brine (Gordal)
  • 2 Drops of sugar kelp water
  • Seaweed garnish (optional)

Method: Combine Isle of Harris Gin, vermouth, olive brine and sugar kelp water in a mixing glass with cubed ice. Stir and strain.


Rubi Spritz

A sparkling Spritz for summer that can will win over any brunch.

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur
  • 75ml Sparkling wine
  • 25ml Ginger ale
  • Garnish: Lemon peel

Method: Simply fill your glass with ice, pour in the rhubarb and ginger liqueur, top with sparkling wine and ginger ale, and finish with a fresh twist of lemon peel.


Dobel Cucumber Cooler

When trying to survive the searing heat this summer, arm yourself with a few of these Cucumber Coolers from Maestro Dobel.

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Dobel Blanco
  • 2 Lime wedges
  • 6 Mint leaves
  • 3 Cucumber coins
  • Topo Chico mineral water

Method: In a cocktail shaker, add lime wedges, mint leaves, and cucumber coins. Muddle to release lime juice and break down the cucumber. Add Dobel Blanco to your shaker with ice, and shake vigorously. Strain into a Collins glass filled with fresh ice and top with Topo Chico. Garnish with a cucumber slice, lime wheel, and mint sprig
