Irish whiskey producer Teeling has released a limited edition expression to celebrate its 10th birthday.

Named Birthday Batch, the bottling features a blend of some of Teeling’s oldest single malt and pot still whiskeys, drawn from its Dublin distillery.

Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the whisky’s notes include orchard fruits, caramel and butterscotch from the malt whiskey, peppercorn spice and green apple oiliness from the pot still, alongside a tropical character with melon and guava.

It sits at 46% ABV and can be purchased for €100.10 (US$115) from the distillery’s website. All profits will be donated to local Dublin-based charities.

Looking back on the distillery’s 10 years, Jack Teeling, founder of Teeling Whiskey Company, said: “We are incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved. Bringing Dublin whiskey distilling back to life was no small task, but through passion, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality, Teeling has firmly established itself among the world’s leading whiskey brands and visitor attractions.

“The resurgence of Dublin whiskey has been extremely fulfilling, and as the vision became a reality, the company is excited for the future, with plans for expansion and older expressions of Teeling from its maturing Dublin-distilled inventory.”

Teeling opened the doors to its Dublin distillery in 2015 as the city’s first new distillery in 125 years.

Earlier this year, it welcomed its one millionth visitor since its opening. Annually, the distillery receives between 115,000 to 130,000 visitors.

To further its 10th anniversary celebrations, the brand will also host events at the distillery, including ‘Sip Sessions’, a curated series of talks with industry pioneers and special guests.

Visitors with birthdays in June can also enjoy a free tour of the distillery.

According to a Bord Bia report in January, exports of Irish whiskey rose by 13% in value last year.
