Planteray concludes Terravera collection
Maison Ferrand-owned rum brand Planteray has unveiled the final edition in its Terravera collection: Trinidad 2003.

Planteray’s Terravera vintage range celebrates the land and culture of each rum terroir with limited single-vintage expressions.
Previous releases under the Terravera series include Fiji Islands 2004, Panama 2010, Barbados 2007, Belize 2008, and Mauritius 2013.
The final edition in the collection is also the oldest. It spent 19 years in ex-Bourbon casks at the Port of Spain Distillery in Trinidad, followed by a further three years in ex-Ferrand Cognac French oak casks in Javrezac, southwest France.
The Cognac cask finish is said to add complexity, depth, and layers of flavour to the rum.
Planteray Trinidad 2003 rum is highlighted by a fruity profile, complete with aromas of caramel, vanilla, and citrus notes on the nose, and dried fruits and exotic guava on the palate. On the finish, there is black tea, pepper, and dry orange peel.
Master blender and creator Alexandre Gabriel said: “Over the years, our partnership with Trinidad Distillers has allowed us to create rums that are not only rich in character but also showcase a perfect balance of elegance and depth.
“Planteray Trinidad 2003, as the final vintage of the Terravera collection, holds a special place in our rum collection. It is a rare expression of rum craftsmanship, and once it’s gone, it will never be replicated.”
The expression is offered at 47.8% ABV in 700ml bottles. It launched exclusively in Europe and Asia-Pacific in mid-April, with a suggested retail price of €75 (US$86).
Planteray launched in 1999 under the name Plantation Rum.
Earlier this year, the brand introduced its Sealander expression to the US market for the first time.
