Produced in Dijon, France, the new liqueur is made by extracting the aromatic richness of the tea while preserving its natural freshness.

Offered at 20% ABV, it blends the intense vegetal notes of green tea with a light umami sweetness and bitterness. It is described as ideal for creating innovative cocktails.

Gabriel Boudier Matcha Liqueur is available now with an RRP of €23.99 (US$32) for a 700ml bottle.

As a champion of innovative bartender liqueurs, the brand hosts an annual competition challenging bartenders to create an original liqueur. The winner has a chance to have the brand produce their liqueur.

Last year, it released a turmeric liqueur envisioned by the 2023 winner of the Wizard Award Competition, Xander Driver.

This year’s winner was Ashley Haines, from Ojo Rojo tapas and mezcal bar in Bournemouth, England. He took home the top prize for his sweet woodruff liqueur creation.

In April, the French liqueur producer unveiled a spicy expression flavoured with chipotle peppers.

Previous winning recipes from the competition include makrut lime leaf, mustard and nori seaweed.
