With an eye for the high-end Scotch single malt market, Fettercairn makes its US debut with five rare expressions, ranging from 24- to 50-year-old whiskies.

Stewart Walker, distillery manager of Fettercairn, commented on the distillery’s milestone: “Fettercairn has always been for those who embrace curiosity and appreciate exceptional flavours.

“As the appetite for characterful and rare single malts grows in the US, we’re proud to showcase what makes Fettercairn so distinctive – vibrant tropical notes, elegant complexity and a heritage of boundary-pushing whisky making.”

The distillery’s offerings in the US will include the 24-year-old, with a recommended retail price of US$650; 28-year-old for US$1,250; 40-year-old at US$6,000; 46-year-old with an RRP of US$19,000; and 50-year-old, retailing for US$37,000.

Andrew Lennie, brand ambassador of Fettercairn, commented: “This is an incredibly proud moment for our whole team, bringing 200 years of Fettercairn to the US for the first time. Some of the range we are launching in the US includes whiskies that Stewart worked on when he first joined the distillery.

“It is a privilege to see them on the shelves and in the glasses of the most discerning American whisky fans.”

Lennie continued: “The five expressions we’re launching show the ways our whisky develops throughout the maturation journey, delivering an incredible depth of flavour. We’re looking forward to sharing it with you.”

Fettercairn was founded in 1824 at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains in the Scottish Highlands.

The distillery’s core range, which includes a 12-year-old, 16-year-old and a 24-year-old single malt, is available in more than 40 countries worldwide.

Last year, the distillery unveiled a £100,000 (US$127,640) collection of six single malts with a combined age of 200 years to celebrate its bicentenary.
