Enemigo is the official Tequila sponsor of Fulham FC. It will create cocktails in honour of the Premier League club’s players with Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasyrecently named North America’s best bar – in the lead up to next year’s Fifa World Cup in North America.

The cocktails created by the Handshake team will represent the cultural traditions of each Fulham player lining up for their country at the World Cup.

The series started with Mexican striker Raúl Jiménez, with his cocktail named the Jiménez Handshake Margarita. The cocktail, created by Handshake’s co-founder Eric Van Beek, is described as a ‘liquid tribute’ to the player’s journey ‘from the streets of Tepeji del Río to the bright lights of the Premier League’. It features Enemigo Blanco 55 paired with hibiscus and lime.

Sebastian Gonzalez, co-founder of Tequila Enemigo, said: “Raúl is a hero for the Mexican national team. Honouring his story through a drink that highlights our shared heritage fills me with pride.

“This drink and collaboration represent everything Enemigo stands for – bold vision, precision, and soul.”

The Jiménez Handshake Margarita was unveiled at the start of the month at Fulham’s home ground in west London, Craven Cottage. Jiménez, the Handshake Speakeasy team and Fulham players  Jorge Cuenca, Bernd Leno and Andreas Pereira attended the launch.

Rodrigo Urraca, co-owner and head of public relations at Handshake Speakeasy, added: “This is more than a cocktail, it’s a celebration of identity.

“Bringing this to life with two brands rooted in Mexican history and artistry is a dream come true.”

Enemigo’s partnership with Fulham began last October and includes game-day activations, curated cocktails and elevated hospitality experiences.

The Jiménez Handshake Margarita will be available at Craven Cottage and Fulham Pier this summer and at select Enemigo partner venues worldwide.

Meanwhile, Handshake Speakeasy made the top 10 finalists for Best International Cocktail Bar at this year’s Spirited Awards.
