Lost Lantern launches whiskey membership club

The Discovery Club from independent bottler Lost Lantern was designed to showcase the rising stars of American whiskey.

Lost Lantern typically releases its whiskeys in batches, focusing on specific flavours or regions

Vermont-based independent bottler Lost Lantern has announced a subscription-based monthly whiskey club built to help whiskey lovers discover emerging brands and hidden gems within American whiskey.

Lost Lantern debuted in 2020, bringing the Scottish practice of independent bottling to the American craft whiskey scene.

“Our goal with the Discovery Club is to share our journey of exploration with whiskey enthusiasts,” co-founder and head of whiskey sourcing Adam Polonski said. “I visit every distillery we work with, and I’m constantly discovering exceptional whiskeys from innovative distilleries all across the country.

“The Discovery Club is our way of sharing these whiskeys and these stories directly with passionate whiskey drinkers.”

Each month, Discovery Club members will receive a never-before-released bottling from a rising star or lesser-known distillery. These bottles will be exclusive to club members and will not be released any other way

Beginning 1 May, those who wish to join can visit the Lost Lantern website, with monthly membership costing US$90 plus shipping. The signup bottle will be shipped upon club membership purchase.

Members will likewise receive behind-the-scenes stories and insights into featured distillers and invitations to exclusive events, virtual tastings, and conversations with partner distilleries hosted by Polonski.

Members will also receive early access to all Lost Lantern releases and Discovery Club library bottles.

The initial signup bottle and first monthly release will feature whiskeys from two of Lost Lantern’s most sought-after partners.

The following 12 monthly releases will come from distilleries that Lost Lantern has previously collaborated with, many of which are only available in two states. Club releases will span a range of whiskey styles with about half being Bourbons.

Membership will be limited initially to a maximum of 180 people.

Members will also benefit from flexible account management options, including the ability to add additional bottles from the Lost Lantern shop, delay or skip shipments, or pause or cancel their subscription at any time.
