Elixir Distillers prepares for Tormore relaunch
By Miona MadsenAfter acquiring Tormore from Pernod Ricard in 2022, Elixir Distillers has unveiled three ‘teaser’ single malt releases from the distillery.

Released under a new Blueprint series, the three 10-year-old single malts represent the first official releases from Tormore Distillery under the ownership of Elixir Distillers.
The Blueprint whiskies have been matured in three distinct casks: Bourbon barrel, toasted barrel, and cream Sherry casks.
The first of the three, Bourbon Barrel, combines whiskies aged in first-fill Bourbon barrels. It is said to represent the core of the future single malts from Tormore and displays notes of caramel, coconut, pear, nectarine, walnuts, custard, biscuits, and peach tart.
The second, Tormore Cream Sherry Cask, utilises Spanish cream Sherry casks. Historically, the popular Sherry style blends dryer wine such as oloroso with a sweeter wine like Pedro Ximenez. For the Tormore single malt, ageing in cream Sherry casks result in notes of dried fruits and orange peel.
The last of the trio, Toasted Barrel, is matured in virgin American oak barrels, which have been crafted, toasted, and charred specifically to the distillery’s specifications.
Polly Logan, distillery manager of Tormore, said: “We are incredibly excited to offer our Tormore Blueprint to market. This is a first step in showcasing our wonderful spirit and giving a sneak preview of our future Tormore bottlings – and we are so proud of the whisky.”
Limited to 1,500 bottles each, all three whiskies are offered at 48% ABV with an RRP of £59.95 (US$81).
Tormore Blueprint bottlings are available worldwide starting in June.
The rebirth
Tormore Distillery, located in the Speyside region of Scotland, was established in 1959 with the goal of producing an elegant and fruit-forward spirit.
Over the years, ownership of the distillery has changed hands multiple times, alternating between community-focused practices and industrial efficiency. However, recent changes under new ownership have restored traditional methods, which are believed to enhance the fruit character and overall quality of the spirit.
In 2022, Elixir Distillers, owned by brothers Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh, acquired Tormore Distillery from Pernod Ricard.
The Blueprint series is intended to lay the foundation for Tormore’s future and ignite conversations in anticipation of the whisky brand’s relaunch in 2026.
The three new bottlings are said to serve as a platform to explore and explain the brand’s story, providing insights into the foundational elements that will shape the Tormore single malts of the future.
In addition to Tormore, Elixir Distillers portfolio includes brands such as Elements of Islay and Port Askaig single malts, Black Tot Rum, and Highland Nectar whisky liqueur.
The London-based company is also building its Portintruan Distillery on Islay.
