Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery marks 25th anniversary
By Miona MadsenBacardi-owned Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery has released a 22-year-old single malt to commemorate the 25th anniversary of its visitor centre opening.

The Scottish distillery, home to Aberfeldy single malt and Dewar’s blended whisky, opened its visitor centre and whisky experience in 2000.
To celebrate the 25-year milestone, Aberfeldy has unveiled an exclusive 22-year-old single malt finished in oloroso Sherry casks.
The limited edition is part of the brand’s Exceptional Cask Series, dedicated to single-cask bottlings, double-cask expressions, and small-batch releases.
Finished in Sherry casks from Jerez, Spain, the new edition displays notes of orchard fruits, succulent pear, and caramelised apples throughout, accompanied by vanilla, heather honey, toasted oak, and clove.
Stephanie Macleod, malt master of Aberfeldy, said: “With finishing, the goal is always to complement, never mask, the whisky’s inherent qualities.
“For this 22-year-old, we monitored the cask development carefully to ensure the oloroso influence provided depth, warmth, and additional layers of fruit and spice. It felt like the perfect way to mark 25 years of welcoming visitors to the distillery, by sharing a whisky that reflects the character and craft we’ve become known for.”
Limited to 552 bottles worldwide, the 22-year-old commemorative bottling will be available for £195 (US$260) from the distillery and its online store.
As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations, Dewar’s Aberfeldy Distillery will also host a series of special events, tastings, and behind-the-scenes experiences throughout the year.
In 2023, the distillery marked its 125th anniversary with a limited edition 25-year-old whisky.
