Rusty Cerven joins Tatratea as global brand ambassador
By Rupert HohwielerVeteran bartender Rusty Cerven has been hired by Tatratea to help elevate the Slovak spirits producer both globally and locally.

Cerven has more than 15 years experience in the industry and counts some of the world’s top bars on his resume, such as The Connaught and The Gibson in London, and Manhattan Bar in Singapore.
Tatratea notes his expertise, international connections and ‘innovative approach’ to mixology will help to elevate the brand to ‘new heights’ as he takes on the role of global brand ambassador.
Cerven was also the winner of the Bols Around the World bartending competition in 2013, where he bested 3,000 entries across 66 countries.
Considering his experiences across Europe, Asia and the Americas, and network of bar professionals and influencers, Cerven will hope to accelerate the brand’s expansion beyond its stronghold in Central Europe.
Alongside his networking duties, he will also showcase the brand through signature cocktails, which will include modern bar concepts and unique serves.
Tatratea believes Cerven’s involvement will “inspire bartenders and hospitality professionals in Slovakia to push’s creative boundaries”.
The company added: “With his guidance, we are confident that Tatratea will not only strengthen its position in Slovakia but also continue its journey toward international success.”
Last month, the brand introduced a lighter version of its flagship herbal tea-liqueur, sitting at 35% ABV rather than the original’s 52% strength.
Earlier in the year, The Spirits Business visited the brand’s headquarters in Kežmarok, Slovakia, to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the spirit is made.
