Midnight Rambler creates Pokémon-inspired menu

The cocktail bar at The Joule hotel in Dallas, Midnight Rambler, has picked Pokémon as the theme for this season’s menu.

The Pegasus is a gin-based cocktail, but a non-alcoholic version is available

The menu itself is made up of ‘playing cards’ featuring custom characters inspired by each cocktail, designed to encourage guests to try the full menu and ‘collect them all’.

New cocktails in the ‘Ramblerdex’ are inspired Dallas ‘staples’, such as The 11, which is a riff on 7/11’s frozen Slurpee, made with Weber Ranch Vodka, blue raspberry, pineapple and a cherry on top.

The Pegasus, represented by a red and pink winged horse, is made with Fords Gin, egg white, citrus and floral magnolia. It is inspired by the city’s Magnolia Petroleum Building. An alcohol-free alternative is also available.

Other serves include The Conspirator, a ‘Caprese-style Martini’ made with tomato-basil-infused rum and a mozzarella bocconcini. The Crop Star blends Elijah Craig Bourbon, roasted corn, lime, chilli and crema.

Meanwhile, the Rambler on Lock section features some of the bar’s fan favourite serves, such as its take on a Dirty Martini, the Filthy 2.0.

Guests can also stock up on ‘Battle Essentials’, which include a range of beer and wine, alongside a menu of Boilermakers.

This week also saw the launch of a new menu from New York bar Shinji’s, which features a cocktail inspired by Japanese karaage.
