The stolen bottles
Several valuable bottles of whisky from The Glenturret were stolen, including a 25-year-old single malt released in 2024, and Still Life Spring, which is limited to 105 bottles worldwide.
The 25-year-old whisky has an RRP of £1,400 (US$1,320), while Still Life Spring retails at £5,500 (US$2,792).
The Glenturret 25 Years Old was matured in a combination of American and European oak first and second-fill casks, ranging from butts to firkins.
There are 210 bottles available globally, with only 18 in the UK.
The 25-year-old is an annual release that was unveiled as part of the brand’s 2024 core collection of eight single malts in July.
Launched in March 2023, Still Life Spring is the second of four decanters from The Glenturret whisky maker Bob Dalgarno.
The Still Life collection is inspired by Scottish seasons with each expression presented in a Lalique decanter.
Each decanter was hand blown by Lalique’s master glass makers, feature frosted crystal, and are presented in a custom-made box.
Established in 1763, The Glenturret is Scotland’s oldest operational whisky distillery.
In 2019, Silvio Denz, owner of Lalique Group, and Hansjorg Wyss acquired the distillery. They sought to establish The Glenturret as a renowned single malt producer instead of making whisky mainly for blends.
