Eden Mill creates gin with golf course botanicals
Scottish distiller Eden Mill has launched a gin made with botanicals foraged from the Old Course golf resort in St Andrews.
The Old Course in St Andrews covers 95 acres, featuring abundant gorse and heather on the fairways and bunkers, with lavender growing in the rooftop garden of its clubhouse.
Eden Mill Distillery, which can be seen from the course’s sixth hole, has created a London dry gin using botanicals foraged from the ‘golfers paradise’, including gorse, heather, lavender and seaweed.
Eden Mill Golf Gin is available at Waitrose stores in the UK, following a nationwide listing. It will also be available on the distillery’s website and retail stores at £29 (US$39).
Rennie Donaldson, chief executive officer at Eden Mill, said: “St Andrews is the beating heart of our brand and the home of golf, so we’ve always wanted to authentically tie our Golf Gin product to the town. Foraging botanicals from the world-famous Old Course has allowed us to do just that.
“A UK-wide listing at Waitrose is the perfect launch pad for the gin. Golf participation has been increasing consistently since 2020 and is showing no signs of letting off, so we’re delighted to have developed the perfect pour to toast to this growing segment.”
The juniper-forward gin is offered at 42% ABV.

Eden Mill opened its new distillery earlier this month (April) and has already begun gin and whisky production. The distillery is set to open its visitor centre in August 2025, offering immersive gin and whisky experiences, a retail space and a top-floor cocktail bar.
