Having won the India finale, Singh will move on to the World Class Global finals in Toronto – taking place from 28 September to 2 October – where he will represent his home nation.

He said: “Winning the World Class India Bartender of the Year 2025 title is a moment of immense pride for me. This platform gives a chance to the most dynamic and inspiring mixologists in India.

“Competitions like these help us push boundaries, spark innovation, and create memorable experiences. I worked tirelessly for the India finals, and now I’m looking forward to representing India on the global stage and showcasing our vibrant bartending culture to the world.”

Held at Le Méridien Gurgaon on 12 April, the World Class India final saw Singh joined by 15 of the nation’s top bartenders, who presented their craft in front of a panel of global brand ambassadors and industry icons.

Singh and his fellow bartenders were judged on everything from performance to technical precision, understanding of flavour profiles to spirit pairings and the artistry of their presentation.

Anchal Kaushal, vice president – consumer marketing of Diageo India, said: “We are proud to have created an initiative like World Class, which empowers mixologists and the bartending community to push the boundaries of their artistry, elevate their skills, and showcase them on the world stage.

“Navjot Singh’s remarkable win this year is a testament to the immense talent and creativity thriving in India’s bartending scene. We are excited to cheer him on as he represents India at the global finals in Toronto.”

Since its inception more than 12 years ago, Diageo’s World Class bartending competition has supported more than 400,000 bartenders across 60 countries.

In 2024, Canadian bartender Keegan McGregor won World Class. The year prior, Jacob Martin took home the title.

Singh’s win is the second triumph for Lair this year, after being named Best Bar in India in January.
