Bemakers makes waves in Spain
By Miona MadsenDanish distribution platform Bemakers will make its spirits portfolio available to more than 47 million consumers in Spain.

The expansion into the new market makes Bemakers’ products available directly to both consumers (B2C) and trade buyers (B2B) across mainland Spain and the Spanish islands, including high-demand hotspots such as Ibiza.
To support the expansion, Bemakers has established a dedicated tax warehouse in Spain, which enables fast and compliant local fulfilment for both B2C and B2B orders.
According to the distributor, Spain’s ‘vibrant and mature’ beverage market presents significant opportunities for brands to reach consumers, including millions of tourists who visit the country annually.
Bemakers offer brands essential market access and in-market stock to fulfil their orders and meet demand.
Morten Rinder Stengaard, co-founder and CEO of Bemakers, said: “Spain has always been on our roadmap. It’s one of the largest beverage markets in Europe. It’s culturally significant, commercially important, and highly attractive to our partner brands.
“With our Spanish tax warehouse now operational, we’re providing brands with a faster and more reliable way to reach consumers and trade buyers alike. This is a strategic step forward as we continue expanding our footprint across Europe.”
Market launch
The Spanish launch was piloted with two partner brands: Arbikie, a Scottish field-to-bottle distillery, and Ruby Spiritz, a Danish vermouth producer known for its organic expressions.
Henrik Veiergang, co-founder of Ruby Spiritz, said: “We had orders in Spain waiting to be delivered, but no way to do so — until now.
“Spain is a natural fit for vermouth, with a strong culture of aperitivo and organic products gaining momentum. With Bemakers opening the market, we finally have the stock in place and the support to grow our presence and bring more people together over a glass of Ruby.”
Arbikie, which already collaborates with Bemakers in several European markets, viewed Spain as a logical next step.
Ludgero Da Cruz, Europe sales manager at Arbikie Highland Estate, added: “Our partnership with Bemakers has worked well in markets like Sweden and Denmark, so expanding into Spain together was an easy decision.
“Spain presents huge potential for a brand like ours that focuses on provenance, sustainability, and premium spirits. With Bemakers handling the logistics, we can stay focused on our story and our customers.”
With the launch in Spain, the distributor now operates in nine European markets, including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, France, Austria, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
