Wray & Nephew launches UK-exclusive rum
By Miona MadsenCampari Group-owned rum Wray & Nephew has launched Wray’s 43 as its first new UK release in recent years.

Exclusively available in the UK, the new limited edition white Jamaican rum is offered at 43% ABV.
Wray & Nephew, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, is known for its Overproof rum, bottled at 63% ABV.
The lower-alcohol version was created for the UK market to respond to the rising demand for full-flavour, easy-to-mix spirits.
Wray’s 43 is a blend of unaged Jamaica white rums with notes of rich fruits, charred pineapple and molasses.
While inspired by the brand’s Overproof rum, Wray’s 43 is described as ‘not a diluted version but a distinct expression’, offering a naturally sweet profile while retaining the character Wray & Nephew.
The rum is said to be ideal for long drinks, including pineapple juice, ginger ale, or coconut water.
The expression’s signature serve – Wray’s 43 & Pineapple – combines 25ml of Wray’s 43 topped with pineapple juice and garnished with either fresh pineapple or a lime wedge.
David Morrison, deputy master blender at J Wray & Nephew, said: “The launch of Wray’s 43 is an exciting new exploration for us. We have listened to our community and are providing rum lovers with a fresh way to experience the tropical flavours of Jamaica rum whilst staying true to the product’s authenticity. Full-flavour guaranteed.”
Wray’s 43 is now available exclusively in the UK through Booker for convenience store distribution and from Amazon, direct to consumers with an RRP of £25 (US$32).
Wray & Nephew was established in 1825 and is one of the best-selling rum brands in the world.
Last year, the brand launched the third edition of its Wray Forward programme, which provides support and funding for Black-owned businesses in the UK.
