Myles will retire having shaped the Highland single malt’s direction for more than two decades.

In his stead, Parmiter joins with a wealth of distilling knowledge. Her experience extends to Echlinville Distillery in Northern Ireland, Diageo’s Roseisle Distillery in Speyside and Brewdog. Her most recent work was at Copper Lion Distillery in England, which she co-founded in 2020.

Tullibardine also noted Parmiter’s background, in biology and academic research, as making her the perfect match as distillery manager.

She said: ‘I am delighted to join the team here at Tullibardine. David has managed the site for 20 years and has a huge amount of knowledge, so it is a real privilege to be learning from him. Tullibardine is a distillery with wonderful character, much of which has been imparted by David’s tenure and by many of the operators who have been here for a similar length of time.

“I am honoured to be trusted with the custodianship of Tullibardine spirit going forwards and excited to see what the future brings.”

Tullibardine is owned by Terroirs Distillers and located in Blackford, Perthshire. Last year, Terroirs Distillers acquired Irish whiskey maker The Connacht Distillery for an undisclosed sum.

The distillery’s expressions have seen success for both liquid and packaging, winning Master and Gold medals at The Scotch Whisky Masters 2023 and The Design & Packaging Masters 2023
