Southern Glazer’s names new Campari Division exec
By Melita KielyJennifer Chaplin Tolkin has been appointed executive vice-president, managing director – Campari at Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.

Effective from 1 April, Chaplin Tolkin will take over the position from Garrett McGuiness. A new role for McGuinness within the company will be announced in due course.
Chaplin Tolkin will lead the US distributor’s Campari Division, including the commercial strategy and business performance.
She will be in charge of driving the supplier’s strategic initiatives by partnering with regional leadership and cross-functional teams to optimise market performance and maximise growth opportunities for the Campari portfolio.
Chaplin Tolkin will report to Gene Sullivan, chief sales and marketing officer.
Sullivan said: “Jennifer has been a driving force behind the success of our Campari business and her leadership, vision, and deep industry expertise make her the perfect choice to take on this role.
“Her ability to translate supplier strategy into commercial execution is unmatched and we’re confident she will continue to drive outstanding results.”
Chaplin Tolkin joined Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits in 2017 as a communications and events manager in the communications and corporate social responsibility department.
In her most recent position, Chaplin Tolkin was vice-president of commercial sales, Campari Division, where she helped to strengthen the Italian brand.
Wayne E Chaplin, president and chief executive officer, Southern Glazer’s, added: “Jennifer’s passion, leadership, and strategic mindset have been instrumental in strengthening our supplier relationships and enhancing our commercial success.

In January this year, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits acquired Horizon Beverage Group.
In addition, a trade body for wholesalers expressed “significant concern” over the Federal Trade Commission’s lawsuit against Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits regarding price discrimination.
