Ron Millonario revamps Número 15 rum

Rossi & Rossi-owned Peruvian rum brand Ron Millonario has reimagined its first expression, Reserva Especial Número 15, to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Launched in the early 2000s, Ron Millonario was created by Fabio Rossi, who, in his travels to South America, discovered a family-owned plantation in the north of Peru.

The family had been producing rum since the 1930s, when their son had brought a column still back from Scotland.

Rossi acquired the distillery, perfecting the techniques of rum production, cask maturation, and blending to create Ron Millonario.

For the brand’s 20th anniversary, the company has unveiled a new version of its first expression, Reserva Especial Número 15.

The relaunch features a complete refresh of the brand’s image and a ‘Reach for Richness’ slogan.

It includes a ‘modern’ bottle shape and a new label made from embossed paper inspired by woven straw, which maintains the essence of the original presentation.

Additionally, it showcases a new wood and cork stopper adorned with the Inti sun logo.

Millonario’s rums are matured at sea level for ‘dynamic interactions with the casks’.

Fabio Rossi has made subtle adjustments to the recipe and the selection of barrels for Reserva Especial Número 15 while carefully preserving its original spirit and flavour.

These changes aim to amplify the rum’s qualities of ‘depth, balance, and finesse.’

Offered at 40% ABV, the new variation offers aromas of raisins, figs, plums, dates, sugarcane molasses, chestnut honey, and bergamot, followed by notes of vanilla, toffee, candied oranges, honeyed molasses, creamy chocolate, cola nut, cloves, and herbal liqueur on the palate.

Ron Millonario Reserva Especial Número 15 will debut at ProWein in Düsseldorf from 16-18 March at Hall 7, stand 70B32, hosted by Rossi & Rossi in collaboration with the brand’s German importer, Sierra Madre.

The new expression will be available for purchase from 17 March.

The brand’s global ambassador, Marie El Hanafi, is part of the Women Leading Rum initiative, which aims to redefine the future of rum and other spirits.
