Compass Box CEO steps down
By Georgie CollinsMaurice Doyle, CEO of Compass Box, has announced he will be stepping away from the business at the end of the month, after “three amazing years” in the role.

In a post shared on LinkedIn, Doyle said he felt “an intense mix of emotions” about the announcement, but that his “overriding feeling is one of gratitude”.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to work on a brand that I have admired for over two decades. But I feel especially grateful for the people I have worked with on Compass Box.
“I am thankful for the support and contribution of all team members, past and present. There is no more committed team in the spirits industry than team Compass Box. It has been a wonderful experience to work alongside this awesome and super-talented group of people.
“Recent years have been very challenging for the spirits industry. However whilst there is always more to deliver, I am beyond proud of what we have achieved together on Compass Box over the past three years.”
In 2022, London-based Caelum Capital became the majority shareholder of Compass Box, while in October last year, the company received a £35 million (US$45.4m) loan from Santander to support its international expansion.
Doyle ended his post by saying: “Thanks from me also to Compass Box’s incredible partners, be they distributors, bar-owners/bartenders, retailers, suppliers or fellow whisky fans. You are all playing a key part in the brand’s story. The business quite literally could not do what it does without you. I will remain a fan of the brand going forward.”
The brand has not yet announced Doyle’s successor.
